Weather The Storm
For about 15 minutes yesterday it rained like hell with hail and heavy winds - sticks and cats were flying everywhere and everyone ran for shelter and as quickly as the storm started...it stopped and as the clouds and sky blew blue at a hundred miles an hour off in the distance...an old lady walked south towards me without a scratch on her - it's gonna take more than a mini-tornado to stop her from getting her recommended daily fiber.
Shot on the west side looking north up Broadway into puddle with drain grate.
Time 330pm.

Here are a few ideas to include in a brief email:
Later School Start Time must be an integral part of the solution when school fully reopens in September to support the most basic health needs of teens.
Stakeholders in our community have been considering Later School Start Time for years. Please prioritize this issue now so it’s ready to be implemented in September!
When the district ignores the science and research that clearly demonstrates early school start times negatively impact academic performance, physical health, mental wellness, and safety, it is knowingly placing students at risk. We need our leaders to step up and make Later School Start Time a priority NOW!

Sarah Gnall
RHS Class of 2020
This is a great example of an RHS alumna helping our current students through the rigors of the pandemic. I’m glad they were able to make these conversations happen. Making Zoom calls a regular part of coursework would show students firsthand how important it is to ask questions of people already studying in a field they might be interested in pursuing. Bravo!
Sarah recently met with Dr. Labowsky’s Chemistry students for three Q&A sessions over Zoom to discuss her college life as an engineering major at Lehigh University. Sarah is involved in Engineers Without Borders, Society of Engineers, and is the Campus Suitability Impact Fellow which creates research projects to make Lehigh more sustainable. Her RHS experiences and Lehigh accomplishments are proving relevant to Dr. Labowsky’s sophomores as they prepare to move into a challenging junior year during the pandemic. Thank you, Sarah, for your encouraging words and generosity.
