Macky’s World: Mr. Skyscraper
Unless you have been completely out-of-touch with the comings and goings in Ridgewood, you have heard the last name of “Stroker.”
It started with Jack Stroker Sr. Not much about Jack Stroker is to be found on The Internet except the names of athletes who have received an award with his name on it. I’m referring to an annual award given out by the Ridgewood Junior Football Association in his honor.
There is Jack:
“Born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Jack is a graduate of the University of Vermont. He has been active in community affairs, serving two terms as an elected trustee and officer of the nationally-recognized Ridgewood Public School system. Jack and his wife Lindsay live in Charlotte.
There is Jim:

Coach James Stroker, younger brother of Jack, is a legendary, motivational speaker, coach, and father. RHS 1970
There is Nancy:
Nancy Stroker RHS 1978 is a financial sector professional. She was a star athlete in any sport she chose to pursue. I remember her as a tennis player.
There is Ali:
Ali Stroker RHS 2005. She is a performer and motivational speaker. Ali Stroker won the 2019 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her role as Ado Annie in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!
I couldn’t possible do justice to the Stroker clan in a single post. They are an engaging and talented group of individuals who share an illustrious name. Jim and his daughter Ali both have the distinction of being named Distinguished Ridgewood Alumni by our Alumni Association.
