Making A Difference
When we live our lives on purpose that is how change comes about, in ourselves and the world around us.
Nothing could be simpler than just going with the flow and doing what everybody else does. It requires little effort and produces about the same. But when we strive for a lofty idea, like our team’s effort to capture and preserve the culture of Ridgewood schools on the Maroons Online website, we see the beneficial effects accumulate day by day. We’ve reached 400 pages of details and particulars that go into making up our story. That these tidbits on daily life might well have been overlooked or forgotten in our hurry to get on with Life is a chief concern. We plan to gather many more as the tapestry of our lives is a rich and varied subject, with more narratives than we can possibly do justice to. Though we will try.
We are not endeavoring to change the world, only to document and cast some light on the small part we know well. In doing this we hope people will recognize and appreciate all the experiences which have come before and acknowledge the possibilities that lie in front of us.

Troll Bridge
In all my years visiting the park...this is the first time I've ever seen anyone under the Gapstow bridge (besides myself of course) - I guess he was conducting business from his "satellite" office - the two people on the top right were laughing as the guy below was shouting for his accountant to "sell."
Gapstow bridge looking north in a very algae blooming pond.
Time 11am.

LBI Day 3: Steamers
Beach Haven Fishery is one of our standard pilgrimages during our week here. Their Little Necks always leave the audience asking for more.
We generally make them in a manner that I picked up in a small roadside restaurant in Bagnols-en-Fôret, a town on the D4 just north of Frejus in Provence. This town, or rather the mussels (Moules) that the restaurant served, were one of my father’s favorite ways to spend a lazy afternoon during the many years that Callian welcomed us all.
Today I tossed them together for Son #3 and one of his college buds. Easy to do, the bike ride to buy them took longer than the prep.
Figure on at least a dozen per person. Wash the Little Necks, or mussels, in several changes of fresh cold water. This releases their sand. While the clams are getting used to the inevitability, start a sliced onion in a few glugs of Olive Oil letting it soften. Add in half a head of sliced garlic and let it all bubble. When nearly done toss in the clams, crank the heat, pour over them a cup of white wine, and cover. Let them steam in the wine while you shake the pot occasionally. Slice a nice baguette to sop up the juices. Once the clams open, dump them without fanfare into a large bowl, and stand back.

Happy International Women’s Day! (March 8, 2021)
Putting all of the amazing women in my life on a pedestal today. Thanks for all of the trailblazing and support. Happy International Women’s Day!

We've found many uses for our Totem Plinth Bowl in Soapstone, but a really great one is as a pedestal for our planters if you flip the bowl over. Also works well as a catchall or as an ashtray for burning incense.
Our Mission
At M + A, we remain energized by our mission of offering special, handcrafted artisan goods – for good; inspired by our most favorite art and artists, brought to life by centuries old artisanal practices.

“Echoes”
Tony winner Ali Stroker (Oklahoma!), Karen Robinson (Schitt’s Creek) and Rosanny Zayas (The L Word: Generation Q) are set as series regulars opposite Michelle Monaghan, Matt Bomer and Daniel Sunjata in Echoes, Netflix’s psychological thriller limited series from 13 Reasons Why showrunner Brian Yorkey.
Created and written by Vanessa Gazy, Echoes is a mystery thriller about identical twins Leni and Gina, both portrayed by Monaghan, who share a dangerous secret. Since they were children, Leni and Gina secretly have swapped lives, culminating in a double life as adults: They share two homes, two husbands and a child, but everything in their perfectly choreographed world is thrown into disarray when one of the sisters goes missing.
