Obfuscation
From the latest issue, April 5, 2022 | Volume 18, Number 18 of the Ridgewood Public Schools News:
The Board discussed the status of the Alternative Schedules Initiative. The District is sharing a weekly wellness resource, and the survey will be administered after the spring break. The survey will be available for a two-week period, and K-12 Insight will analyze the data collected.
The Board Of Education (BOE) gets an incomplete grade for their incessant deliberations on beginning high school at. 8:30 AM each day. I thought when the BOE member pontificated about having to consider 100 years of pedagogy we had heard the most cryptic remarks on the subject, but it appears I was wrong. The above status report is too opaque for words and was written, not to inform, but to deflect from all the science being ignored and how many high school students at RHS report they are tired. By last count their petition had signatures from over two thirds of the student body. Check out their social media site on Instagram, or simply read their plea for help:
RHS Tired Teens is a student advocacy group for later school start times because, let’s be real, we’re tired of being tired.
Plenty of resources have been collected if you want to read more on the subject, we call, Later School Start Times.
A simply message to the Ridgewood Board Of Education: quit using the word “Initiative” when your actions & words clearly show a complete lack of energy and determination. Stop your delay tactics and merely state you are against the idea.

On the Cantrell/West End Triangle... I used to play in it when I was as young as 5... Before it became "Doo Doo Island" because all the dogs did their business there... it was like Facebook for them..

Went up to Little Girl’s Point for some rock hunting and was surprised to find thick ice still covering the beach, and pressure ridges out on the edge that are ten feet high. Still managed to bring home a pocketful of rocks.

Around The Village
While I was super excited to see this year Ridgewood sent this information out and our tax increase is less than last year's out of control 4.3% increase, I am just so taken aback by paragraph five regarding Schedler.
By way of quick background. Thirteen years ago Ridgewood purchased multiple acres and to date we have failed to develop them. This multi million dollar project is STALLED and since Ramon has left there have been three set of secret plans submitted to SHPO and not released to the public. All of requests for information have been met with denials, resistance and on a good day mean spirited yelling from the dais.
Added to that the excessive flooding at Vets/Maple/RHS and closure at Orchard has exasperated our lack of field space. If your child is playing too late at night, in a rough/over utilized field or being bused out of town that is all due to the failure to develop this property. During COVID lack of space was highlighted at every turn yet the Village still has no plan in place for the development of this space (NONE, ZILCH, ZERO APPROVED PLAN).
Since there is no plan in place how can this project be measured?
