Macky’s New York Photo Essay: The Wind Cries Brooklyn
Doug Kennedy with Cows Like Shrimp
My favorite quote from John Steinbeck:
It has always seemed strange to me... the things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling, are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and self-interest, are the traits of success. And while men admire the quality of the first they love the produce of the second.

Macky’s New York
Here is today’s Macky. He captures the Brooklyn Bridge in all its windy glory.
February 1, 2021 - Brooklyn bridge
The wind cries Brooklyn.
I started shooting this on the right side of the walkway knowing that when I got ready to pull the trigger the wind would blow me into the center...I think I was close...the next photo I took by mistake is me tangled into the metal mesh on the left - yes the wind was blowing that hard...even the bridge seem tilted - notice no snow on the right.
Shot on the east approach looking west towards the east tower.
Time 230pm.
We’ll close with a jam: Doug Kennedy with Cows Like Shrimp
If you play both links at the same time you’ll achieve an original jam effect. Or simply enjoy the jam by itself.
Jen, Pete, and I (collectively known as COWS LIKE SHRIMP) improvising on the ride-out of Sefton's original tune "Flapjack" at Bar 9 in NYC's Hell's Kitchen on March 4th, 2010. Video shot by Kevin Reilly. Thanks Kevin! —Doug Kennedy
