RHS Distinguished Alumni Award
The RHS Distinguished Alumni Award honors those who have typified the Ridgewood High School tradition of excellence and brought credit to the high school by their personal accomplishment, professional achievement, or humanitarian service.
We suggest that given the uncertainty around planning large gatherings that the following list of alumni be considered by the alumni committee. Let’s honor all these fine alumni and plan a party to fete them properly at a later date.
Please feel free to nominate your own candidates. These are our nominees for the next cohort. In our opinion every one is deserving and ought to be included.

Charles Fermier
He would have been in the Class of 1964. He was an A student and he was a National Merit Scholar semi-finalist, but lost a finger in a snowblower accident and had to drop out of high school.
When he recovered he became a delivery driver for Ridgewood Paint & Wallpaper. Eventually he became the owner of the store and also the store in Wyckoff. He sold the two stores and retired. I assume he is having a successful, wealthy retirement.
Local kid makes good... what could be better than that?
Ramon H. Hache, RHS 1991, Bergen County Commissioner, Former Mayor Village of Ridgewood

Tales From The Wood…
I've seen uglier sunsets....
Fact is... because of the topography, Ridgewood gets so-so sunsets, but spectacular sunrises..

Happy 2022
This will be
Guarantee the Greatest Year Ever !
One last surge of Covid to bring back our gratitude awareness and then like the slaying of the dragon
Let’s the wicked witch of the west call it out loud and clear “ I’m melting. "
Thank you all for being a big part of my life and loving giving and offering such hope and kindnesses to our family.

The river froze up by our place this morning, which is kind of unusual because it’s 20 degrees, and that’s not very cold. But we’ve had 3 nights in a row of zero or below temps, and those consecutive sub-zero nights are what gets the river clogged up with chunks of ice. Once the channel gets clogged with slush and ice and the surface stops moving, it freezes in a matter of a few hours. With the 15 to 20 below temps predicted for the coming week, looks like we won’t see moving water again until the March thaw, but that’s only two months away.
That brown ice along the shoreline is not ice at all, but slush. That will get solid in the next day or two. There’s turkey and fox tracks in the snow-covered solid ice, and across the river you can see all the trees that got blown over from the July storm. It’s not a very pretty scene, but it is interesting. The river never stays the same.
