The Dreams In Your Heart
Let’s take a step back for a moment from the conflict between scientific evidence and bureaucratic protocols surrounding Covid booster shots. I suggest we allow ourselves a moment where science takes a back seat in the discussions of our daily lives for a brief passing moment. Then we’ll go back to the once in a generation questions of who to believe about when to get your booster shot. (Spoiler Alert: listen to the medical professionals and not the plumber next door.)
Now for a serious bit of self reflection. Are you filled with dreams which seem so far out of your reach that they make you feel dumb for even trying to attain them? Join the club! We all have these and it’s more true than not that we won’t reach them. This isn’t to say we ought to stop dreaming or give up trying to make ourselves and our environment better than we found them.
I just want you to listen to what the dreams in your heart are suggesting. They likely are hinting at a road not taken very often, and which has no clear end in sight. This is good, scary but good.
These dreams will excite you, as they should if they are any good at all. Concentrate on the most exciting brainchild you have stored away in your heart. Notice I didn’t say brain, because your fondest aspirations as those which make your heart flutter. Your brain usually tries to calm your heart and dampen the enthusiasm you are feeling. Simply think about what might someday become a reality.
Ok, times up. I hope you are feeling a little less bothered and a bit more inspired. We’ll all need your help if your dream is big enough and your perserverance knows no bounds. Keep those around you up-to-date on your progress.

Rock Hound
From up on top of one of the palisade cliffs along the north shore of Lake Superior. What a view.
The hardest part was watching some kids mess around right on the edge of the cliff. Yikes! That must be at least a hundred feet down to the water. Wonder how many times the Coast Guard has been called out to this spot to make a rescue or recovery.
