The Net
The Internet is called by some a “Teaching Machine” because it acts as a universal encyclopedia which can be constantly updated. If you want to know something and know how to look it up, there is less need to memorize a fact.
This has dramatically changed the education system, mostly for the better. It has become a good addition to a teacher’s assortment of skills and knowledge. Though I don’t think the Net can replace the wisdom of a dedicated teacher, now or anytime in the future.
We have paid tribute, in words and or pictures, to a few of the many fine teachers who have graced the halls in Ridgewood Schools over the years. Principals, Deans, Superintendents, and Assistant Principals are part of the growing list. It is by no means complete with serious omissions from the 1990s to the present day. There is also the history of the position of Dean Of Girls at RHS which I know needs further clarification.
The hope is to one day cull from all the Arrow Yearbooks, middle school yearbooks, and files from the elementary schools to pay recognition to those most deserving whom we have left off our list. We’ll use the Internet to store all of the findings so that future generations can get a feel for what it was like to be in some of these classrooms from the past.
As ever, we are grateful for your suggestions and contributions.

Luna Park Seen From A Wet Subway
My final photo from this morning - I stood barefoot waiting for my feet to dry and as we started to pull out of the station on the F train...Luna Park emerged and through the wet window it looked my a toy play set - I wanted to just grab it and take it home with me.
Shot looking east from elevated train with Wonder Wheel.

Offset Stripe Coverlet - Twin XL
Hand loomed on traditional wooden looms in Kerala, India, in a Fair Trade Certified environment and then cut and sewn by our team in Noida. Each panel is pieced together with a sewing machine for stability and then top stitched with a beautiful whip stitch.
We pre-wash and dry it to give it an interesting texture and simultaneously reduce the amount of shrinkage on the customer’s end. All are slightly different due to the nature of the handwork, and precisely what we love about them.

Rare sighting of a Shoreline Conglomadon.
Thanks all. Didn't mean to confound anyone. I'm confounded myself. This is a huge piece of man made conglomerate, AKA poured concrete, that somehow made it's way to the shoreline of Little Girl's Point on Lake Superior. I have no idea what it is, or how it got there, but it does look like some type of prehistoric aquatic creature; Conglomadon seemed like as good a name as any.
Here's a picture of some nature made conglomerate, AKA pudding stone, that found itself sandwiched inside some basalt. Little Girl's Point is a great place for rock hunting. —Jim
