The Third Jab
I’ll be receiving my third shot of the Pfizer vaccine sooner rather than later. Not that I like getting shots, most people don’t. My reasoning is straightforward: I’ve been given countless shots during my lifetime to prevent a myriad of diseases. I trust the people who suggest and administer these vaccinations and I don’t possess the educational background or training to dispute them. Fortunately, they have been correct every time. No exceptions.
Now we have the evidence from 200 million people who have been successfully vaccinated against Covid in this country. The latest mandate by the Federal government is not an issue to me of freedom but one of efficacy in providing safe workplaces and schools. This is an OSHA issue. The people who carp about a loss of freedom would gain more of it back if they didn’t carry cell phones which track their every move. Nor should they use social media to make their points on a variety of subjects, the data in their postings is sold to advertisers. They would be better off if they admitted to not liking needles, and then just went and got vaccinated.
Let’s face it, the unvaccinated individuals filling the Intensive Care Units of hospitals in every state show clearly that it just doesn’t make sense to avoid the shot. The “performance art” they are being goaded into by Vax deniers who claim to care for individual liberty is a sham. Why is it so hard to be honest about what you don’t know in this situation? All I am suggesting is a little humility and to try and be a role model for people who don’t have a choice about being vaccinated, either because they are too young or have a weakened immune system.

Paul Cortellesi On Cooking
Remembrance
A terrible day, but the best way to get through it.
Today we were able to again come together as a fire company to share a meal in peace.
The weather was exactly as I remember it, this allowed us to enjoy an evening of pizza and fellowship. We were all lucky that it wasn’t until after all had eaten and everything got moved inside that the tones dropped for a car accident.
We wish you all peace, and the joy of family.
It is worth noting that Deb Keniston Cortellesi was still working the dough after the sun set.

Tear Drop Vase - Brass
Like a droplet of pure brass to hold your sweetest blooms, M+A's little tear drop vase in shiny polished brass can add a little sunshine even when it's raining.
Designed by M+A NYC
Made in Moradabad, India
3.375"d x 5"h
Care:
Untreated brass will tarnish and pick up the natural oils of your hands. We love the natural patina of this beautiful mixed metal - but if you'd like to keep it crazy-shiny, just make a paste of baking soda and lemon juice; work the paste on with a soft cloth and rub in one direction; rinse and buff with a soft dry cloth!
There is also a market product called "Brasso" that cleans brass quickly.

Son, John, at the Great Falls of the Passaic - A few years ago I took a trip back east to see friends and visit old haunts. I was lucky enough to be able to talk both of my grown sons into coming with me. I wanted them to see where I grew up, meet some of my old friends, and perhaps hear their dad say some words that they never heard him say before (we don't say those kinds of words in Wisconsin). Because my younger son, John, and I are both fans of the movie "Paterson," John wanted to make a stop at the Great Falls to see what they really looked like. We got lucky, because the night before we had a torrential downpour, and the morning we stopped there the falls were bright white and full of roar. John picked a bench and was mesmerized.
