Ridgewood Pedestrian Plaza
According to Mayor Paul Vagianos, the exact dates and included streets for the 2023 Pedestrian Plaza will be determined by the police department. The Central Business District most certainly will be a happening location on summer weekends!
According to the latest Village Council proposals, Outdoor Cafes will be allowed to be open year round and will be responsible for moving their property in the event of a weather related event. Sounds like a nice improvement to the Village.
Who doesn’t like the way the Village every 4th of July becomes one big Pedestrian Plaza with an hours long parade? Even the annual Spring parade of young baseball & softball players changes the mood of the town for the better.
It will be interesting to see the competition between cafe owners to come up with the most engaging outdoor cafe. Not just the cafe who spends the most money, but the ones who make them most inviting and in keeping with the aestetic of the Village.
The Pedestrain Plaza idea will breathe some new life into the Village and with that usually comes original ideas and approaches to problems.

The Victorian And The Yellow Brick Road
I shot this in the back of a silver airstream camper which has been turned into a coffee truck - you can see the rivets and all the dents from years of use - the big hole looks like something you would a use to attach a water hose to - I was standing on the curb with just a foot or so between me, the street and the traffic so I had one shot before it got too dangerous - the woman saw me run up to the camper and looked at me as I took the photo which kinda makes the shot - oh...and the yellow brick road is actually the side of the sidewalk which was painted yellow not the actual sidewalk - bent metal and light can play tricks on ya.
4th Avenue just north of 8th street looking east with westerly reflection with green wooden construction wall in distrance.
Time 10am.

100th Anviersary Celebration Events
The ORIGINAL jazz band, called the "Village Club" was formed in 1936! This Picture is the first we could find of the group in 1940. Some notable RHS students in the "Village Club" in the early days include Nelson Riddle (trombone, arranger, composer, orchestrator) and Sonny Igoe (jazz drummer).

A sunny, 40 degree day in February is an invitation to get outside. But the snowy landscape combined with the bright sun made it tough to get any properly exposed photos. So where to find some shade? Under a bridge! This is an ice formation of the Eau Claire River, under the Eau Claire Dells bridge.
I didn’t notice it until after I got home and processed the photo, but I see an icy hand reaching up through the ice and trying to pull the rest of its body out of the frigid water. Maybe I should go back and try to rescue the poor soul, but it looks like it’s too late. He’s a goner for sure.

You’re Saying It Wrong
Ross & Kathy’s podcast: You're Saying It Wrong is a podcast that looks at what we get wrong—and what we sometimes get right—when it comes to this English language.
Slang time again -- but this time we talk about how slang words we THINK are pretty new actually aren't. Wanna hang out with us for a bit? There's a ginormous amount to learn! (See what we're doing here ...?!? Don't puke!)
