Observer
Thank you, Dr. Fitts
As if finding just the right individual to be your successor wasn’t job enough, the Village asked Dr. Leonard D. Fitts to weigh in on the 12 year long debate regarding what time High School should begin. Dr. Fitts, you handled this second task with the aplomb of the veteran educator that you are. There was no rushing you, but you were well aware of the calendar. In the end, the Board Of Education (BOE) voted for your recommendation to begin the RHS school day earlier and the issue of Later School Start Times was finally put to rest with no diminution of the quality of an RHS Education. Listeners online & attendees of BOE meetings will no longer be subject to blatherings about pedagogic minutes. Thank you for eliminating these tiresome, esoteric, discussions from future BOE meetings.
We can also be grateful for the BOE selection of Mark Schwarz, who has been named superintendent of the Ridgewood school district, the largest in Bergen County, with 10 schools and 5,705 students. He is currently superintendent of the five-school, 2,560-student Madison school district in Morris County,

A March Morning And The Beresford
I can sit here all day and watch the world spin by in the reflection of Lake but today I can't cause I got me a date with a cheeseburger at JG Melon at 1130 and we all know we never want to make a cheeseburger wait.
This is a pure reflection shot on the south end of Wagner's Cove looking north with the Beresford in the distance.

Mighty Are We As One
M + A is a destination devoted to art, artists, artisans and design. We are inspired by art as it relates to design: the soul, the spark that ignites beautiful ideas. We are equally as motivated by craft traditions passed down from generations.

Commute
Commute
sweep of cold headlights
in the morning dark,
right turn, southerly...
sip the coffee
traumatized
like half the students
I drive towards...
one oak leaf blows
- skitters, skids,
drags it's edges
on asphalt
as if there
had never been
Spring green.
At least we're
being blown the same way;
I take solace
In our brotherhood, I feel
some mysterious connection
With this one, solitary
photosynthetic organ
and what it gave up
for the future
contained
in an acorn.

James Stroker
Hope Coach
Since we can't seem to stop many of the disasters (man made and natural) my good friend, Jim Stroker and I are in training to become PFA (Psychological First Aid) Responders. We hope no one needs our services, but as we all know there are too many tragedies happening, and we feel compelled to help in some way.
Oh, and today is Jim's birthday! Follow this inspirational guy @coachstroker if you need some uplifting perspectives.
Happy Birthday Jim! It's a joy to be on this journey with you!—Lisa Bornemann Paterson
