Columbus Circle Sabrett (An Ode To Squib)
As I stood around Columbus Circle looking for a photo...I looked up to the heavens for guidance and and inspiration as I did...I saw this above my head in the brushed pounded metal of the Columbus Circle Globe and immediately thought of my brilliant artist friend @robertsin_clair (aka Squib) and his unique look at the world.
Shot into South America with reflection of Sabrett umbrellas and pictures of various food on the side of a hot dog cart.
Time 915am.

Hope Coach
When an anonymous member of the Navy SEALs shared that this tool or practice was a part of their daily regimen as elite warriors, I immediately paid attention.
Breath awareness is something we all tend to acknowledge on the surface, saying, "I have that covered." However, at a deeper level, recognizing when your breathing pattern is out of sync, rapid, or stress-induced may not be the norm.
This form of training is a vital tool for those operating in high-stakes environments, allowing them to achieve and maintain a sense of calm within their nervous system, even in the most challenging conditions.
One valuable technique to start with is known as box breathing. It involves breaking your breath into four parts: inhaling for a specific count, holding for a certain duration, exhaling for a set count, and then pausing at the bottom in stillness.
For those seeking guidance, YouTube offers excellent tutorials, and many high-level practitioners use the Pranayama app.
You might find it intriguing to experiment with a variation, such as inhaling for a count of three, holding for three, exhaling for three, and then pausing at the bottom before commencing the second round.
To me, this practice of breath awareness seamlessly aligns with the message of not reacting impulsively but responding thoughtfully after taking a breath.
Remember, like all tools, you must actively engage with them to witness their transformative effects.
Just today when you’ve got 2 minutes
“Box up”your overthinking mind and focus in on the numbers going around the box.
Then a week from now after 6 days of 2 minutes you might just have a tool in your toolbox that could help you when the RED lights come !

Rock Hound
Split Rock Lighthouse from a trip up to the north shore a week or so ago. I took a bunch of pictures with my good Nikon D750, but none of them turned out too good. I snapped this image with my phone just so I could text it to Jenni. I’m glad I did, because it’s the only image that turned out decent. Sometimes these phone cameras amaze me.
This photo was taken at about 7:30 PM on the night of the second August full Blue Moon. It’s unusual to have two full Blue Moons in the same month, and to make it even more special, the second Blue Moon of last August was also a super moon.
There was another friendly photographer out on the rock with me. She had several cameras with her and all were equipped with very large and expensive lenses. She was planning on taking a photo of the lighthouse with the rising full moon every half hour or so, then she would layer the photos together in photoshop and end up with one image, but with that one image showing the moon in different positions in the sky, with it rising over the lighthouse on the east side, and then setting on the west side. The moon wouldn’t be over the top of the lighthouse until 10:30, and then it would be another 3 or 4 hours until it set on the western side. Holy cow, that’s dedication! I stayed until the moon popped up over the horizon to our right, and that was good enough for me.
