Bravo, Ridgewood Village Council
The Ridgewood Village Council leads the way in showing governmental & non-governmental organizations how to ought to operate. They hold informative discussions available to the Internet via Hybrid Access, & they publish the Minutes of council Meetings as seen by the Mayour Paul Vagianos. These are all bold changes from previous council practices and ones we are proud to see. Here are the notes from the Council Meeting held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, as provided by Ridgewood Mayor Paul Vagianos:
• First hybrid meeting - round of applause to our village employees and residents for making this happen. There are things we can and will improve on, but just having the hybrid option has been an achievement for our community.
• Ridgewood Water - we handled some routine items, and discussed changes to rules on smart controllers. Expect to hear more as we head into the spring about water conservation.
• Budget - we covered a number of routine matters for the budget cycle.
• Schedler Property - our Village Engineer gave us an update on the current status. We heard from members of the community about what they would like to see at the property. We've asked the engineer to put together a site plan that includes a full-size field and expect to review what that looks like at an upcoming meeting.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 1.

As the sun rises and the hunger increases...I find myself wondering do I get my usual everything bagel toasted well done with scallion cream cheese or do I go off script with with a cinnamon raisin bagel with a dollop of maple walnut spread - I'm mean...it's sweet on sweet baby.

I don't add the link as an advertisement. It’s to show how much smaller it appears from the curb..
Holy… I just noticed the rent.

Needed to get out and see some color in nature, so decided to visit The Big Spring in Manistique, MI. Such a cool little spot. It's Michigan's largest natural spring, with a depth of 40 feet and super crystal clear water. They have a little raft that is pulled by a cable. You get on the raft and spin the big wheel and the raft takes you to the center of the spring, where you can look down and see dozens of lake trout and other fish. 10,000 gallons of water a minute gush into the spring from underground, and the water stays a constant 45 degrees, winter and summer.

Around The Village
80 years ago today my Mom, Nancy Guyet Crann, was born at the old Ridgewood Hospital on Godwin Avenue and the world became a brighter place. Everyone celebrated (and I mean everyone) her arrival with Champagne. Thirty years later my parents dropped the big kids at 419 Meadowbrook, walked to Valley and started birthday week with my arrival which is now a 50 year tradition in the Crann Family. Of course there was champagne over my baby head and smoking cigars all in a hospital. (Not kidding)
If you are lucky your mom turns 80, luckier if you were a real life present to her five decades ago and the luckiest if tonight you had some champagne together over dinner while planning the endcap of our celebration with the upcoming Crann Family Reunion Rhode Island style. I love you Mom. Happiest of 80th.
