A Confluence Of Expertise
Vision 360 Multimedia is a new business located at 31 East Ridgewood Avenue. They specialize in telling stories using “immersive multi-media solutions.”
I don’t want to suggest that a new cohort of Mad Men have taken root at 31 East Ridgewood Avenue but it is the kind of tech-savvy business the Village needs. Especially with multiple organizations in Ridgewood beginning discussions about new websites.
Maybe it’s the start of a Ridgewood Technology & Business Incubator?
This is good news. I hope people throughout the village give a listen and decide for themselves the veracity of what Vision 360 Multimedia has to say. More importantly, give them a chance to propose solutions to revitalizing the Central Business District.

Turkey Shoot
I woke up this morning hearing the rain fall and although it was dark...decided to go up to Herald Square to see if I could capture the Thanksgiving magic that surrounds Macy's this time of year but it was cold and it was gray and I wasn't seeing anything that caught my eye and just as I was about to get on the bus to warm my hands...well...what do I see...
Shot off the side if the crosstown bus on 34th street just west of 6th Ave looking east with Empire State Building in the fog.
Time 8am.

RHS Class Of 1979 Reunion Update
To update on our 50th Reunion plans for class of '74, we have reserved the Ridgewood Woman's Club for the evening of Saturday, September 21, 2024. We set up a bank account at Valley National Bank in Ridgewood; they can work with Stripe payments. We will probably get the Market Basket to cater. We plan to use RSVPify for invitations and maybe reactivate our old website. We will start meeting and inviting in earnest in early January. —Pamela Perron

Hope Coach
As a former football player from grade 5 through my freshman year in college, I endured a challenging journey marked by eight concussions. This experience had a significant negative impact on my academic performance, particularly in areas like reading, comprehension, and attention. Traditional school metrics didn't favor my situation, forcing me to develop and rely on unconventional strategies and techniques to navigate through high school and college. Despite these hurdles, I strived to fit in and learned to employ whatever means necessary, even when traditional reading methods proved ineffective.
My journey led me to a career in teaching and coaching in college, where I thrived by learning through interaction, asking questions to knowledgeable individuals, and actively engaging in my work. My passion for excellence was a driving force in my professional growth. The discovery of Audible was a turning point, as it transformed my approach to reading from a visual to an auditory experience, often through narrations by the authors themselves. Listening to books while being active — whether working out, driving, or moving around — became a source of immense joy and learning for me. I embraced this new method of absorbing information.
Suddenly I had access to information that those readers I had always strived to be like had as well.
Still today I can’t wait to open a new audible or listen to an incredible discussion on a podcast where authors, performance masters and those seeking excellence describe their tools and tactics of success.
Here’s a list of incredible books that have significantly impacted my life and thinking:
1. "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield
2. "Man’s Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl
3. "The Hero with a Thousand Faces" by Joseph Campbell
4. "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius
5. "The Obstacle Is the Way" by Ryan Holiday
6. "Mindset" by Carol Dweck
7. "The Tools" by Phil Stutz
8. "The Alter Ego Effect" by Todd Herman
9. "The Daily Stoic" by Ryan Holiday
10. "The First Rule of Mastery: Stop Worrying About What People Think" by Michael Gervais
11. "Tools of Titans" by Tim Ferriss
12. "New Book Arte" by Brian Johnson
13. "The Little Book of Talent" by Dan Coyle
14. "Atomic Habits" by James Clear
15. "Broken Open" by Elizabeth Lesser
16. "Grit" by Angela Duckworth
17. "The Bhagavad-Gita"
18. "Cutting Loose” Ali Stroker
19. "The greatest of all-time A tribute to Muhammad Ali”
20. "Start with Why" by Simon Sinek
21. "Hidden Potential" by Adam Grant
22. "Daring Greatly" by Brené Brown
23. "The Leadership Challenge" by Barry Posner and James Kouzes
24. "Turning Pro" by Steven Pressfield
25. "The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse" by Charlie Mackesy
Each of these books has played a pivotal role in my personal and professional development, offering insights and wisdom that have guided me through various stages of my life.
