Trello For Ridgewood BOE
Bravo, to Ridgewood Public Schools (RPS) Superintendent Mark Schwarz!
The new Superintendent of the (RPS) introduced Trello, a highly regarded project management software to the Ridgewood Board Of Education (BOE). This is his second stellar idea for using technology to improve communications. The first being Superintendent Coffee Hours. These monthly meetings are for questions & answers, and to make participation in Village Educational affairs easier. The Coffee Hours have been very well received!
The Trello software is easy to use, secure, and a tremendous step towards improving the functionality of the BOE. While the BOE will immediately benefit from this productivity software, the true beneficiaries will be the residents of Ridgewood.
For the first time ever, the progress of BOE projects and issues can be tracked by residents on the Internet. Trello software allows for greater transparency into everyone’s activities. It also makes it easier for Village volunteers to know what positions are vacant, or who they might contact.
Think about it: If the Ridgewood Village Council had used any sort of project tracking system when the Village bought the Zabriskie-Schedler house on West Saddle River Road, there wouldn’t have been such an embarrassing stretch of time where no action was taken. Nobody could have hidden this fact or the people responsible from the massive storage available on The Internet.

Tales From The Wood…
It's the little things.
As I was passing by I saw this landscaper struggling, trying to drag leaves to the street.
I've been there hundreds of times and he was a small guy, like 5'2".
His apprehension was reasonable, my walking up to him so directly... But I held out my hand and together we dragged the tarp down the driveway and street around the corner to the pile.. Can't leave piles on Godwin Ave.
Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but when he said "thank you" there was depth to it.
I think his gratitude wasn't so much about the assistance. I think he appreciated just being treated like a human being, not a rake.

RHS Class Of 1979 Reunion Update
To update on our 50th Reunion plans for class of '74, we have reserved the Ridgewood Woman's Club for the evening of Saturday, September 21, 2024. We set up a bank account at Valley National Bank in Ridgewood; they can work with Stripe payments. We will probably get the Market Basket to cater. We plan to use RSVPify for invitations and maybe reactivate our old website. We will start meeting and inviting in earnest in early January. —Pamela Perron lodging discounts and other weekend anomalies. Stay tuned, but PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!
