Nature Loves Courage
We live in a high-risk society. There is no getting around the risks we must face and how often our choices make us embrace the unknown.
As a child or young adult, we learn through hard experience what risks are worth taking. But what about as an older adult, what new way of thinking or acting is worth the trouble? We already have plenty of experiences to draw upon, and possible some wisdom was gathered along Life’s journey.
Fortunately, we can engage in what the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge called the willing suspension of disbelief. It doesn’t matter what your age is during these tranquil moments. You only need to imagine how Nature loves courage. Then tell yourself to keep going, forget about Life’s travails, and get on with living a life which resonates inside you.
What resonates with you most will depend on your own experiences and beliefs. Give the casually cruel and proudly dull in your life a courageous wave farewell, and vow to yourself that you never want to be like them. It’s easier said than done but it might become a reliable touchstone to consult before you embrace the unknowns all around us.

Around The Village
If you are on this page you are a friend and therefore know how I do NOT like to receive bad news via social media or text. You also know that I really like my social media to be authentic but not an overshare which many of you understand is a very tough balance to strike.
Since last year most of my posts have been total complete sun (my kids, Mike and of course Seamus) as well as an official boatload of information. With that being said I feel like last months omission of less than perfect news made my posts less real and less me. While nothing is bad for me (no worrying please), life has been hectic. There have been days that I attend hours of meetings & get yelled at a bit more than I would like. These days are full of worry and yes sometimes end the day with healthy cry in the car (don't worry a good cry is a good thing). I have also found myself in an effort to cover many things in my sweats longer than I should be. Yes, I am writing this post with one of my favorite bathrobes still on.
And then on Monday night I had a late meeting and wore this heart sweater to a meeting and then placed it in our laundry room. Tuesday I got up for an early meeting and wore it again and ended my work by putting it back on. A total rarity for me to wear the same outfit for two days but also a symbol of a hectic pace filled with events on the pathway back to full sunshine and information.
I wanted to post because I know many of my fellow mid-lifers are all going through lots of things that are not on social and rushing more than we should. Hopefully your repeat outfit is happy as my heart sweater and if not I may re-home this one due to overuse :)

Citizens’ Park
Citizens’ Park in Ridgewood in the fall of 1977. Prior to the park being there, the land was occupied by the Kraft family. Then in the early 1970s the plot was purchased and was given to the Village for the enjoyment of all.
