Observer
Ridgewood Taxi Stand
The Ridgewood Taxi Stand sits vacant now, the business was a casualty of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Uber proved once and for all that it is capable of dispatching cabs more efficiently than any human.
Ridgewood Taxi once provided the last leg home for commuters who were without transport from a significant other, children, or pals going the same way. It was available 24/7 and their lights were always on & doors open, though you might have to wake up a dispatcher to initiate your trip if you wanted to go somewhere in the wee hours of the morning.
Now the Village is wondering how to utilize this seemingly prime space in the Central Business District.
Maybe it could be a succession of pop-up businesses which call attention to the Village.
At a minimum, a piece of Digital Signage (DS) could be installed inside the Taxi Stand facing the trains going Westbound. The DS would display website addresses and social media accounts. Start with one at the Taxi Station, include local news on a loop, as well as a place to charge a phone. Eventually, the Village might want to power a town-wide network of digital kiosks with some combination of solar panels & storage batteries.

Rock Hound
A frozen and snow covered lake, a bog, and a glacial hummock along the Ice Age Trail. The only thing that's missing is a swamp. Walk a part of the trail and go back in time.
