Observer
Welcome, Dr Leonard D. Fitts!
Dr Fitts spoke last night at the Ridgewood Board of Education meeting. He asked general questions in his initial remarks about both academics and athletics which showed he will be bringing a fresh approach to the job. He mentioned building partnerships with community groups and suggested the RPS might create an Olympics Preparation Program.
I am hopeful Dr. Fitts turns his gaze toward ways of including alumni who would still like to be a part of the Tradition Of Excellence. The current emphasis on using alumni simply as career networking connections is an unimaginative way of including them and largely ageist in its execution. Retired alumni have many, diverse lessons to teach and are not too old to learn from younger graduates.
Congratulations to the Ridgewood Board Of Education! I’ll freely admit I haven’t spared you a lick when it comes to your stalling on the Later School Start Time plan of RHS Principal Jeff Nuhuis. Though I will always point out when you have truly done your job, as you have with the selection of Dr. Leonard. D Fitts as the new Superintendent of Ridgewood Public Schools.

The Man From Daisy
As I waited for the crosstown M86 bus to have lunch at my folks place...I turned around and notice a flowered dress on a mannequin in a store front window and I could see people passing in the reflection which I thought was pretty cool and so I shot this into the glass as a man quickly passed by.
Shot on 86th street just east of Lexington looking south with north facing reflection.
Time 1145am.
